Thank you for your interest in joining our Cantera Barrel Club. For the 2021 vintage, registrations are now open until 1 October, 2022.

Please see below for all the details on this special offer and what information we require from you to progress your registration. Allocations will be made on a first come, first served basis with just five barrels available for purchase in 2021.

Cantera Barrel Club – vintage 2021
The 2021 Hawke’s Bay vintage was slightly cooler than both 2019 and 2020 though still continued the warmer-than-average trend of the last 4 years. Flowering was five to 10 days early and normal temperatures were experienced until the end of January. It was a drier-than-average season, but the moderate summer meant no excessive vine stress was evident and harvest weather was reasonably stable and favourable. The result? A very good to exceptional Hawke’s Bay vintage, and one we are proud to craft the Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Cabernet Franc for our 2021 CRU Omahu Cantera from.

Barrel Configuration & Presentation:

A 225L barrel equates to 150 x 1.5L magnums OR 300 x 750ml bottles.
Total cost: $15,000 excl. GST.

Please let us know how you’d like to receive your barrel - configured between Jeroboam bottles (3L), magnum bottles (1.5L) or single bottles (750ml).

Up to 20 magnums will be presented in Smith & Sheth branded wooden boxes. Additional wooden boxes can be purchased for $15/unit.

The balance of the wine (both magnums and 750ml bottles) will be delivered in our standard 6-pack boxes.

Delivery

The release date for the 2021 Smith & Sheth CRU Omahu Cantera is 1 July 2023 and delivery will be arranged with you prior to this time.

Your barrel purchase includes delivery to up to three New Zealand locations.

Please note, the delivery address will need to have the ability to receive up to a full pallet of wine to a residential or commercial address or wine storage facility with driveway / loading dock access by truck.
